Is my drinking water safe? Yes!

Friday 12 November Is my drinking water safe? Yes!

The Port St. Lucie Utility Systems Department (USD) has been providing clean, safe, great tasting water that is regularly tested and consistently in compliance with the strict guidelines placed upon us by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since 1994. The EPA prescribes regulations, which limit the amount of certain contaminants in water provided by public water systems. The USD continues to meet those EPA standards and Safe Drinking Water Guidelines.

The USD releases an annual Water Quality Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), which is published in compliance with Federal legislation and includes the results of the sampling and testing we conducted between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020. This report explains how safe our water is, where it comes from, and how we protect it.

Our on-site lab is certified by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) and uses best practices and the most up-to-date technology to conduct all required testing. The USD provides drinking water to nearly 84,000 customers and it continues to use innovative processes to ensure its continued quality.
