Wednesday 22 April Utility Systems honored with three Image Awards

The Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) recently announced the winners of its local Image Awards competition during a virtual awards ceremony held via Zoom.

The Image Awards competition is conducted annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs on the Treasure Coast during the last year, and to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionalism.

Winners of this prestigious awards competition are selected from numerous entries and demonstrate the very best examples of innovation, planning, and design.

There are three levels of awards: Image Awards are presented to the highest scoring entries in each division; Awards of Distinction are given to entries that meet the standards of excellent set by the panel of judges; while the Judges’ Awards recognize outstanding entries that achieve maximum results, using a minimal amount of money.

This year’s judges consisted of accredited PR practitioners from neighboring FPRA chapters who have a history of winning Image Awards.

Port St. Lucie Utility Systems won three awards:

In the internal category, a Judges Award and An Award of Distinction were presented to Pretreatment Coordinator Kevin Palmer and Utility Marketing Coordinator Jenny Tomes for the "Be Free of FOG to Make Way for Reuse" campaign. This outreach effort educated business owners about the importance of maintaining their grease interceptors. One judge commented, "you did a masterful job of taking a complex problem and laying it out so it could be clearly understood."

In the printed tools of public relations – other category, a Judges Award was presented to Utility Marketing Coordinator Jenny Tomes for Water Hugs, a book published to teach kids about the importance of saving and protecting water.
