Because of the global pandemic, many events were held virtually, including the Florida Public Relations Association Image Awards. And although the winners were announced in April, two Utility Systems employees were finally able to receive their actual awards. Pretreatment Coordinator Kevin Palmer and Utility Marketing Coordinator Jenny Tomes, APR were honored for their work on the “Be Free of FOG to Make Way for Reuse” campaign, which educated business owners about the importance of maintaining their grease interceptors. Kevin and Jenny received an Award of Distinction and a Judge’s Award for their hard work.

Jenny also received a Judge’s Award in the Printed Tools of Public Relations category for Water Hugs, a book she wrote and published to teach kids about saving and protecting water. Congratulations!
