TCPalm Opinion reporter Blake Fontenay offered readers an overview of the Southport Unit 5 Vacuum Pumping Station located at 2281 SE Sidonia St. He toured the station with Utility Infrastructure Manager John Eason, where he got a close-up look at the sewage pumping station that looks more like a regular home than a wastewater facility. The neighbors he spoke with weren’t phased by this new “neighbor” that moved in at the beginning of the year. The project replaced outdated infrastructure to more efficiently collect the wastewater in this area.
